Return of Passports
Collection at the
Indian Visa and Consular services centers Applicants who have applied at any of the
Consular Services and have opted to collect their processed passport
in person need to produce the following in order to collect their
passports:
- Original receipt issued at the
application centre at the time of submission.
Important Note:
If the applicant wishes to assign a second person to collect
the passport on their behalf, the authorized person also needs to
produce
- Letter of authorization from the
principal applicant.
- Photocopy of the ID card of the
authorized person.

Note: All applicants are personally
responsible for their receipts. Delivery of passport would be done
to the bearer of the original receipt. Hence you are strongly
advised to report any loss or theft of receipt immediately to the
Indian Visa and Consular services center in Canada where you
submitted your application.
Passport Collection Timings Applicants who have submitted their
applications can collect their processed passports from their
respective Consular Services. Collection timings are.

Note: It is recommended to the check
status of application only after the processing time stated in
the documentation list has elapsed.
Courier Return
If an applicant wishes to opt for a courier return he can do so at the time of submission. Applicant needs to pay separately for this service depending on his jurisdiction and his city. VFS uses the service of UPS for returning applicant' passport at a nominal fee of CAD 15 plus taxes for the postal codes within the city limits. In case the applicant wishes to get the courier facility beyond the city/provience limits additional charges might apply. Please check with officer on the counter for the same. Courier charges are applicable for individual applications one way courier facility only.
Postal Application
- Applicants need to enclose a prepaid
registered Canada Post Express envelope (self addressed) as a
return envelope. One envelope per application/ passport only. The
contact number clearly needs to be mentioned on the front of the
envelope. Once the application is processed the Indian Visa and
Consular services center in Canada will return the passport in the
prepaid envelope.
- Applicants living in Manitoba, New
Brunswick, Nova Scotia, New Found land, Prince Edward Island and
Labrador would need to send their applications through a National Express Canada Post Envelope to
the Indian Visa and Consular services center in Toronto
- The rest may use a Regional Express Canada Post envelope to
send in their applications to the Indian Visa and Consular
services center in Ottawa and Vancouver respectively.
